This is probably the best tactics book ever! It's also a difficult book to find, but there's also a Chess King app, called CT-ART 4.0, and a software called CT-ART 6.0, which also comes with aditional material from other sources, that I'm not familiar with, but people are always praising it online.Īnother good option for begginer to intermediate players is "Chess Tactics for Champions", also by Susan Polgar. They are really worth it.Īfter that, you can do The Art of Combination, by Maxim Blokh. In my experience, the books are hard to find, but the material is published under two incredible apps by Chess King called "Chess Tactics for Begginers" and "Chess Tactics for Intermediate Players". There are 3 volumes, the first 2 divided in two books (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b) and they go from very simple mate in ones to difficult combinations. ![]() ![]() You'll also find these books published as "Chess School". Even if you're rated about 1200 I reccomend doing it, because the simple puzzles will really help with pattern recognition.Īfter that, I really like "The Manual of Chess Combination", by Sergey Ivaschenko. ![]() The best tactics books for absolute begginers are the Susan Polgar series "Learn Chess the Right Way". I'm pretty much addicted to puzzle books, so I can help a bit.
